James H. Kilpatrick Scholarship

Home Builders Association Presents

Scholarships To Area Students

The East Texas Builders Association (ETBA) proudly awarded seven new scholarship recipients at the Association’s July 12th dinner meeting.

The 2011 James H. Kilpatrick scholarship recipients are Dylan Brown, Courtney Hagan, Rachel Morris, Sarah Locke, Ryan Keith Allen, Courtney Tisdale and Katherine Tisdale.  The Association also recognized Matthew Leftwich and Catherine McCall Springer for receiving their third scholarship installment.

The James H. Kilpatrick Scholarship Fund was established in 2002 in memory of Mr. Kilpatrick, a long time builder member of the Association and ETBA President in 1992.  It is a privilege and honor to remember Mr. Kilpatrick through this scholarship program.  As of 2011, the ETBA has awarded over $70,000 in scholarships.  This truly is a member benefit.  ETBA member’s children are eligible to apply for the scholarship each year in June.

Scholarship funds are generated through an annual Sporting Clays Tournament hosted by the ETBA.  The general public is welcome to participate in the upcoming tournament, August 13th at Prairie Creek Sporting Clays.  The entry fee is $100 per shooter and each team consists of five shooters.  For additional tournament information or to make a donation to the scholarship fund, please contact the East Texas Builders Association by calling 903-758-6416.
